Cheesy Tots

Cheesy tots!  Sadly, unlike most of the eating establishments that appear in the comic, this one does not exist.  However, should a restaurant in the area start serving cheesy tots, LET ME KNOW NOW SO THAT I CAN GO TO THERE AND STUFF THEM IN MY FACE!  I am aware that Sticky Rice has both regular and sweet potato tots.  But I need more places.  There should be a tot tracker or some shit.

I apologize if you’re getting sick of hearing me say it, but Super Art Fight will take the stage at Macworld/iWorld this Friday from 2-2:45 PST.  It’s going to be a mess of fun.  I believe they will be streaming events live from the stage, so check in at the website Friday if you can’t make the show.

Plus, they serve cheesy tots.

  • Sirhouse

    Most Hooters have them…

  • JimJimmerson

Ugly Mug in the Barracks Row/Eastern Market area of DC has a wide array of cheesy tots.

  • thisfox

What is cheesy tots? I’m guessing from the “sweet potato” reference that they could be chips with cheese on them? No wait you lot call chips fries. I mean… wedges? With cheese on them? I prefer my wedges with sour cream… but I can imagine that people would put cheese on them…. Parmesan or romano perhaps, for the flavour.

Yeah, I’m just a confused Aussie.

  • The Columbus Digest

If you ever end up in Columbus for one of our stellar conventions, try Dirty Franks Hot Dog Palace for their “Tater-Tot-Chos,” they are like Nachos, but more awesome.

  • M

Yeah add a confused Brit to the picture too, wtf are cheesey tots, we need to know!

If they’re not deep fried, we probably don’t need to know.

  • JooliaHoolia

Tots are shredded potatos that are formed into little bite sized pieces of delicousness and then deep fried. Cheesy ones would have melted cheese on top of them. Sweet potatoes look a lot like potatoes but they are orange and a lot sweeter they have a totally different flavor but they are equally tasty.

Can somebody explain how the art fights work? I’ve watched a couple on youtube, but I can’t understand how the judging/scoring works.

A couple on here from over *here* wondered what tater tots are… remember “Oven Crunchies” from Ross, in good old GB – remember those? Be nice to see them in cheese flavour :-D

We usually let the audience decide who wins by applause. We have a noise meter so it’s kind of scientific.

Oven Crunchies!! That sounds awesome. Tater tots are fried potato snacks that are shaped like little barrels. Google image search has a whole mess of drool worthy photos.

  • Johnny

Quarry House has tater tots covered in cheese… in Silver Spring! So freaking good.

  • Josh Siegel

Ya, headed there tonight for some cheesy-bacon-totty goodness

  • thisfox

We eat sweet potatoes (We call them kumara), but I’ve never shredded them before reforming them: They don’t need it, they’re already delicious. They’re not anything like the humble potato either. Comparing apples and oranges, I guess?

So, what’s the difference between Tots and potato hash, which yanks call Hash Brown? Shape? It sounds dangerously like that ghastly “popcorn chicken” extruded-meat-product they sell at Macdonalds…. I think I’ll stick to chips and wedges.

    Thankyou for your explanation! :)

I don’t mind hearing about Super Art Fight at Macworld/iWorld…. I DO mind being gorram poor and pinned down on THE WRONG F***KING COAST.

    *huff huff huff huff *

    OK… better now.

  • http://www.fantastic-realities.com/ Kurt Griffith

That line is kind of awesome in WRONG ways…

  • http://ypcomic.com Jamie Noguchi

Yeah, the biggest difference is shape. But if you flattened a tater tot out, it would be a lot like hash.

  • http://ypcomic.com Jamie Noguchi

Quarry House!!!! I need to go for some tot action!!!!

  • http://ypcomic.com Jamie Noguchi

It’s gonna be streamed so you can at least see us act like idiots in front of a whole bunch of Apple fans.

  • Henry Marx
