Racist No More

I know I’ve swiped that “Spider-Man No More!” frame before, but it just fit so well in the last frame. It’s such an amazingly classic image courtesy the legendary John Romita, Sr.

Speaking of classic comics, if you’d like to meet comics legend Stan Lee, then you better get your ass to Baltimore Comic Con this weekend. You can ask him about how he got his breath back after losing it when John turned in that famed page. You can also meet me!

Surely there must have been better candidates for Steve to pick to shore up his reputation. With his salary, he could probably hire a PR firm.

  • JackTheObserverDee

Steve was a self-serving tyrant at work, and now a former racist to boot. Bodie’s too nice. Fuck every last second of that guy. Let him rot.

  • Corwal

    Nah,

those are probably amongst the best of candidates. he’ll use their non-white appearance to prove how non-racist he is. “See, I let these guys work for me, how can I be racist?”

  • Firework the Comic

    No.
He’ll use them and throw them away again. Let him fry under public scrutiny.

  • Firework the Comic

Also, fuck “growing up in a homogenous community”. I did, too, and I’m not this asshole, although I have my faults. Fuck him using that as an excuse to be racist. Age, traditional-ness, and how you grew up is not an excuse to be racist. These people think their background allows them to abuse others. And they think they can abuse others based on a perceived background, that might not even be true.

If Steve was telling the truth, it sounds as if he figured these things out. And explanations don’t need to be excuses.

Bodie: Same advice I’ve been giving Kane. “No.” and “Restraining order.” (Also, how do you know that Steve isn’t outright *lying* to you about the “College as Culture Shock” bit? You might want to do some in-depth research here — i.e. see if you can find anyone who can reliably back up his story — before you decide to help him.)

Hmmmm. I knew it would turn out to be something like that. And it makes me think, hard. Especially since I have read the other comments. And additionally so because I’ve had friends who are “recovering Nazis” themselves after something went “klick!” and set their attitudes right again.
This is the point where “Everyone deserves a second chance” should kick in, right? I mean, everyone fucks things up sometimes, be it by action, attitude or ignorance.
