Here Comes The Sun

Had this song in my head when I was working on this one.

Thanks for sticking around for this second bit of slightly serious story stuffs. I felt we needed a little reflection before completely moving on. And hey, who doesn’t like late night steak. New story arc coming Monday!

    Goodbye, Miss Jessy. We didn’t know you here long, but you were already loved! ;u;

Jamie, this whole arc has been wonderfully done; thank you for making a painful experience for the characters come to a sad, yet beautiful end. It was really nice to get to know Miss Jessy, even though we didn’t get much time with her! <3

Not many people get a send-off that nice. It was a bit awkward mixing it up with the Tara and Kane hooking up plotline, but you pulled it off well. Bravo.

    Hey Jamie,

New reader from GwS. Love it!!

    Two questions.

    1. Did you have a Miss Jessy figure in your life?

    2. Looking at your art in current comics I noticed a change from your early stuff. What prompted it?

    Thanks for stopping by!

    1. A few people, actually. All taken by cancer which is fucking awful.

    2. I think it’s just the natural evolution of my production methods and possibly getting better at drawing my characters.

When I started, I thought that digital coloring would make things go faster. Turned out, shading with markers, pencil, and ink wash goes much faster. I’ve settled on ink wash for now, but I might end up changing things as I go. Hell, I might even do this in color if I get crazy ass crazy.

The latest change has been lettering digitally instead of by pen. It’s much faster and it saves me some hand strain. Used to take me an hour or more to letter each strip. Now it’s done in ten minutes, tops.

Speaking of GwS, I love that Danielle’s style is so consistent. It’s something that I’ve never been able to do with my work.

Thanks! I was hoping that the Kara (can I do that) stuff would lighten the story enough so it wasn’t all depressing and sad and full of feels always.

    Thank you.

    “Kara (can I do that)”
No. It is the dominion only of washed up entertainment journalists and news editors trying to sound cool. Save yourself – do not tread such dread ground Jamie. ಠ_ಠ

Oh no. NOOO. You are not taking Lance out of the story. I won’t let you. AND WHY MUST THIS ARC GIVE ME FEELS

  • Proff.Lawl

T+T Aww I don’t want to meet and lose Miss Jessy and have Lance leave! I hope by home he means Kane’s place. >^<

I liked how you integrated the silly hookup plot with the very sad Miss Jessy plot. Tara and Kane didn't lighten it up any, but it did give a realistic feel to it. That is, even though it's a comic, the characters don't feel like they cease to exist when they aren't on screen. Good job with that.
