Horrific Goldfish

I’m not so sure about the great rock legend that proclaims “The ladies, how they do love yea who playeth the six-stringed electrified harp of the DEVIL!” See, I played guitar all four and half years of college and not once did I meet any ladies by playing. Met a few dudes who wanted to form bands and shit like that, but never any ladies. I suspect the legend leaves out the part where you must play well in order for the lady seducing magic to work.

This weekend, I’m making a pilgrimage out to Chi’ Town to check out C2E2. I don’t have a table which is why I haven’t made a big deal out of the visit. I’ll only be at the con on Saturday to check things out, get a feel for the crowd, talk to some comickers to see how the show is for them, and maybe make plans to do it properly next year. I will be hanging out with the Digital Pimp crew and annoying them while they try to make money so if you find them, chances are I’ll be around there somewhere.

    I never got into it, but I had friends who were super into to ska in high school. They kept trying to get my to play ska music, but I was deep into the blues at the time.

    I remember reading part of an interview with a (famous?) guitarist, who was from a band I didn’t listen to, so can’t recall his name. Anyway, interviewer said something like “I bet you were getting laid all the time in High School!” and the the guy replied “Are you kidding? I spent all my Saturday nights practicing on my guitar. I barely knew what a girl looked like!”
